When I was a kid I had of course a piggy bank. Boy, would it have been cool to own one that counts the coins and displays the current savings on an LCD display. Japanese Keian Corp. is now selling such digital Piggy Banks in Japan.

The built-in sensor identifies coins by size. Currently it supports Japanese coins ranging from a 1 yen to a 500 yen.
You can also configure a savings goal and the LCD display will play a melody and show a smiley face once you reach your goal.

Currently available digiBank include an i-Piggy and an i-Panda bank.
The price is supposed to be around 4,480 yen (~$37) for the money counting Piggy Bank.
