Yesterday I spent a couple hours running around town trying to find a Blu-Ray version of Casino Royale, which was irritating enough. You would think a new release would be easy to find. I finally put my hands on one thanks to Circuit City and headed to the house to do some HDTV testing with my new test flick.

I get home and put the movie in ready for some HD goodness thanks to my PS3 Blu-Ray player. What I was greeted with was intermittent issues that made the movie react like I had paused it. The control wasn’t in my hand, the movie is new and in pristine condition so user error is out. I would have to pick up the control and hit pause a few times and it would usually keep playing. After a quick look around online I see I’m not the only PS3 owner having this sort of issue. The really bad part for me is that I bought the PS3 mostly to use as a Blu-Ray player as even as good as the graphics on most PS3 games look, my PC is better. Anyone else out there having Blu-Ray playback issues after or before this update? If you are drop me a note here.
