Asus enters the sound card business with premium sound cards aimed at gamers.
The new Asus sound card Xonar D2X feature 3D sound processing and support Dolby Digital Live, DTS and 5.1 surround sound.
The Xonar D2X records and reproduces sound in HD (192 KHz/ 24 bit).
All this processing power creates lots of heat and the new Asus sound cards need a cooling fan.
Creative will not be too happy about new competition. Asus has a great name from motherboards and also established itself quite a bit in the graphics card market. Now Asus has set their eyes on the sound card market.
