More Notebooks and PCs News
When I first heard of UMPC systems they sounded really cool. Then they came out and I realized most of them were stripped out machines running weird operating systems without enough storage space to run any apps I was interested in.
HTC has a sweet net UMPC called the Shift that is a system I could see myself using. The little PC has a seven inch touch screen and a real keyboard and a sliding and tilting screen so it might actually be comfortable to work on.
Other features are Windows Vista (yeah a real OS, as real as Windows can be anyhow), 30GB HDD, Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, Quad Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, and WiFi. The machine is slated for release in Q3 of this year though no word on the price. Something this cool will be expensive I’m betting. What do you guys and gals think of UMPC rigs? Let me know what you think via email. See also the HTC Shift announcement from earlier today.
