ASUS was showing off something very interesting for the home theater lovers at CeBIT this year. How does Wireless HDMI grab you? The mere though of being able to connect my HD projector to my HD cable box without wires makes me giddy as a school boy on field day.
The wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver is said to cost about the same as 10m of high-quality EMI-shielded HDMI cable, but that is as precise as they get on pricing. We can assume that we are talking about somewhere in the $100 to $150 range for the system.
The WL-HDMI500 can even transmit through walls as well so you can mount your home theater components in the next room and stream the HDMIU signal for your video and audio through the wall without needing to cut holes or drill into your walls. Now all we need are full wireless surround sound systems and wireless power and we are set! Story and image via The Inquirer
