If you live in an area where blackouts are frequent or are one of the weird folks that like to venture into the outdoors where you can’t charge your cell phone this hand-crank cell phone charger is just for you. Talk about a new take on crank calls.

Turn the crank to generate power for five LED lights for those dark nights or turn the crank to power your cell phone for short two to eight minute calls. Size wise the device is about the size of a flip phone, an older flip phone from the looks of it.
On the side is a DC output for powering your phone. What isn’t clear is what kind of adapters it includes for connecting to cell phones. It could be a USB output since lots of phones use the mini-USB jack or perhaps a series of adapters for different phones. Currently the device is only available in Japan.
