A US team of researchers has identified a protein from a T.rex fossil and compared it to proteins found in today's animal. The T.rex protein is similar to those of chicken.
The T.rex fossils with some soft tissue have been unearthed from rocks in the Hell Creek Formation of eastern Montana, US.
The proteins found in the T. rex bones belong to the elastic connective fibers (collagen).
