Korean LG Electronics sold more than 2 million 3G handsets with AT&T Wireless in North America.
Industry outlet Korean Telekoms reports that this is the first time that a mobile handset maker passed the 2 million mark in the U.S. 3G market.
According to Gartner, LG achieved with 63% the largest share in the North American 3G market on the robust sales of 3G phones including LG-CU500, the first HSDPA phone in the US. LG-CU500 became the single most-sold handset among 3G models with over 1.2 million units sold.
A couple days ago we reported that the other big Korean mobile handset maker Samsung sold 1 million of the SGH-A707 HSDPA music phones in the United States. Where does that leave Motorola on their home turf?
More details on Telekoms Korea.
