French humanoid robot company Aldebaran sent us word that their NAO robot is now able to walk.
We reported about the French Humanoid robot project last Summer. Back then only a schematic of Nao was available. In the meantime Aldebaran made quite some progress and Nao already appeared on national television.
Now the company published a video on their site that shows Nao (AL-05) walking.
The Nao robot is based on a Linux platform and scripted with Urbi, an easy-to-learn programming language, with the option of a graphic interface for beginners or code commands for experts.
Aldebaran plans to bring Nao to the market in the 2nd half of 2007.
