After I posted the news about the launch of the Saitek Obsidian here in the states yesterday I called up the good folks at Saitek and they sent one out to me overnight. I have been sitting here using it for most of the day and so far I’m not so sue I like the touch scroll portion.
It’s weird, I mean with far too much regularity for my liking the pages does a little happy dance up and down when I am trying to scroll rather than going in one smooth direction. I suspect my fingers are too fat and last leading me to be on a portion of the touch area I don’t need to be. That said, who wants to think about scrolling? I know I don’t scrolling is one of those areas that you don’t want to make people need to think. I quite miss the tactile feel of my old scroll wheel. If you press in the center of the touch area you get this little lock cursor thingy that locks the scroll function so you can scroll by moving he mouse up and down.
