Israel based Elbit Systems developed teh VIPeR (Versatile, Intelligent, Portable Robot) military robot.
VIPeR can carry a mini-Uzi submachine gun or launch grenades from a 4-ft.-long robotic arm.
The 9inch tall and 25 pound weighing robot can move in difficult terrains and also climb stairs.
The VIPeR is remotely controlled via a harness and helmet-mounted display by a human operator. Good thing this robot does not have yet a mind of its own.
Elbit Systems says that the VIPeR will be deployed by Israel Defense Forces infantry after field testing.
