NASA plans to replace the Hubble telescope with the new James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) in June of 2013.

The Hubble telescope was launched in 1990. The new $4.5bn JWST telescope will take up a position some 1.5 million km (930,000 miles) from Earth and will have with 24m length, 12m height and a mirror with a 6.5 in diameter a size that is 3 times of Hubble. NASA wants to look deeper into space and even further back at the origins of the universe with the JWST.
