eMagin is the company that makes the Z800 3DVisor and the Eyebud 800 HMD for iPod has some new tech that they are showing off called the SVGA-3DS microdisplay. The OLED display offers both analog and digital signal processing in a compact, .44-inch display.

The high-density OLED-on-silicon microdisplay is said to be an affordable, easy-to-integrate system for virtual imaging systems. Specific improvements include increased pixel uniformity, improved color gamut, on-chip temperature sensor and compensation, and compatibility with both RGB and digital video signals.
The array is 800 x 600 pixels and comprises triads of vertical sub-pixels staked side by side to make up each 11.1 x 11.1-micrometer color pixel. “We demonstrated OLED-XL technology a year ago and implemented it across our product line ahead of schedule,” noted Susan Jones, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, eMagin Corporation. “This year it’s the backbone of our product line and the basis for even more advanced microdisplay products.” Via eMagin press release
