Palm UMPC ''Hawk''

Here we have another interesting and still very, very vague future product: A Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) coming from Palm. The community gave it the codename "Hawk" to pay tribute to Jeff Hawkins, one of Palm's founders.
That Palm would create a new device that is not a phone and not a PDA is a topic since years.
First more focused rumors of the Palm Hawk sprung up in March on the Palm Forums. Brighthand (via Gizmodo) reiterated the rumor yesterday with some predictions what the Hawk is supposed to be.
There are no new facts in this report, so everybody can imagine what a UMPC from Palm could be.
My thoughts are that it needs to run Windows or Linux and not Palm OS. The Treo was one of the first cool smart phones. Maybe Palm can pull off a UMPC hardware design that is just a step or two ahead of the current UMPC iteration from Samsung and others. For me UMPCs need to get still more compact.
Future Products is a new category on I4U NEWS. I am planning on writing about upcoming products that are unannounced, rumored or predictable in some form in this category. If you have a tip email me.
