Fanimation Enigma Single Blade Ceiling Fan

If you live in a warmer climate as I do here in the Southern US you are most likely very familiar with the ceiling fan. Sure, on all those shows, your wife or girlfriend probably watches where they redecorate a house; the ceiling fan is always the first thing the effeminate guy designer tosses out.
They throw them out because they have never lived in the south where it hits 100 degrees with 90% humidity far too often in the summer months. Enter the ceiling fan, nearly a necessity for some but usually the same boring design.
You can opt for four blade or five blade styles at most any store like Lowe’s or Wal-Mart, but what if you want to go high tech with your ceiling fan. This fan from Fanimation is a single blade design that looks a lot like a sword to me and includes a remote and a halogen light.
The rub comes in the price, at $899 this certainly isn’t a fan for those on a budget. I wonder how they balance the design to keep things from wobbling around. When I was in college, an impromptu jousting contest with broom handles and rocking horses resulted in a few blades being knocked off the ceiling fan in the house. I can tell you from experience how quickly things start to wobble when a fan is unbalanced, and how bad a broomstick to the groin hurts. Via Uncrate
