Today Nokia finally announced the Nokia 8600 Luna phone. The phone leaked about 2 weeks ago and then already showed up on retailers in Europe this week.

The stylish Nokia 8600 Luna phone uses opaque smoked glass with unique, soft-touch stainless steel. The keypad illumination pulsates from beneath the glass case while the phone awaits a call - uhhh. Ok, stop dreaming, reality check: the phone costs close to $1,000.

Features of the glass phone are not that overwhelming. They include a 2MP camera, QVGA screen, Series 40 platform, micro USB connector, Bluetooth, MP3 player and 2.5mm audio connector.
Measurements of the 8600 are 107x45x15.9mm. The talk time is up to 3hours and 40min.
The Nokia 8600 Luna is expected to be available during the 2nd quarter of 2007 at an estimated retail price of €700 (~$940) before taxes and subsidies.
