We reported about the new miCard standard for flash memory cards last week. The standard papers are not even dry yet and Pretec already shows of the world's first (according to Pretec) miCard. It is tiny.
The Pretec S-Diamond miCard measures only 21x12x1.95mm, which as almost half the size of a miniSD card.
With a simple adapter the S-Diamond miCard also works in miniSD card slots. The miCards work directly in USB plugs.
The Pretec miCard capacities range from 128MB to 8GB (with a theoretical maximum capacity of 2048GB).
Production is scheduled to begin by Q3.
A version implementing MU-Bus, which is low-power or digital USB technology, will be introduced by Q4, which can possibly usher the era of 4C convergence, to make S-Diamond / miCard to be the center of convenient data exchange among all Computers, Communication devices, Consumer electronics and Car electronics.
