Nokia's WidSets announced the launch of a Jaiku widget that extends the Jaiku microblogging community to mobile phones.
"Our Jaiku widget brings the microblogging experience straight to the mobile phone, enabling community members to stay connected 24/7," said Ulla Särkikangas, Director, Consumer Internet Services, Nokia Emerging Business Unit.
Jaiku is in some ways similar to Twitter. Jaiku users post about what they're doing, how they're feeling, or where they're going right now.
The WidSets service already has more than 1 million registered users and is a handset manufacturer-independent service that offers mobile apps and content. It was launched in October 2006. More about Widsets can be found here.
