Blockbuster announces today that they expand their Blu-ray movie rental offering.
Blockbuster will offer mid-July over 170 Blu-ray titles in 1,700 of their stores. Currently the company offers HD DVD and Blu-ray titles for rent in 250 stores and online.
The move to expand Blu-ray is based on Blockbuster's analyses of the rental behavior of their customers. Blockbuster is still saying that they do not know which HD format wins at the end, but it looks like Blu-ray is in more demand right now than HD DVD.
If you are not Sony PS3 fan you can now get the new Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray player, which sells for $499.99 and will ship today from Amazon.com.
