NEC recently announced their new line of Windows Vista projectors the NEC NP1150, NP2150, and NP3150. These three projectors are all professional grade and are aimed at corporations and government use, and are the first commercially available projectors to use the “Connect to a Network Projector” wizard in Vista.
This function allows the Vista machines on a network to connect directly to the projector without needing any additional software. To do this Remote Desktop on the Vista machine is used and the remote computer can be controlled by simply attaching a USB mouse and keyboard to the projector via the integrated USB ports. The keyboard and mouse is able to operate directly from the projector thanks to the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 OS used on the projectors.
“Hardware and software compatibility are a competitive necessity for organizations today,” said Rich McPherson, Product Manager, NEC Display Solutions. “By being the first company to bring the benefits of Windows Vista compatibility to boardroom and classroom projectors, NEC is making it easy for both users and technology to connect and communicate.”
The projectors also use Silicon Optix HQV technology for high performance video scaling/processing. Brightness on all of the projectors shouldn’t be a problem with the NP1150 having 3500 lumens, the NP2150 with 4000 Lumens, and the NP3150 with 5000 Lumens. All three projectors are set to ship in late 2007 and pricing is not mentioned at this time. Via NEC
