David Scott Mustaine (born September 13, 1961 in La Mesa, California USA) is the lead guitarist, songwriter, and singer for the heavy metal band Megadeth. Mustaine grew up in various Southern California suburbs. He currently resides in Fallbrook, California. Mustaine was also a former Metallica lead guitarist and co-songwriter in that band's early history.
