MONROE, La. (AP) — The Monroe City Council has passed a resolution allowing a grant application city officials believe can help the airport secure direct flights to Denver. The News-Star reports Monroe is offering United Airlines $100,000 from the mayor’s economic development fund and waiving $50,000 in landing fees if they open a direct flight from Monroe to Denver. Eden woman accused of burning clothes, boyfriend’s truck

EDEN, N.C.  – A woman was arrested after police say she set some clothes on fire in the back of her boyfriend’s truck Friday morning. The News & Record is reporting that Angela Dawn McBride, 39, of 3011 Price Grange Road, is charged with burning personal property.
