Features & Specifications Connectivity options on the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV are good with one analog and one digital coax, three composite, two HDTV component, three S-Video, PC VGA and two HDMI connectors. Audio connections include six RCA L&R and one PC audio port. About the only connectivity option I would want to add to the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV is an additional HDMI connector. Audio output options include one RCA L&R, one optical digital, and one coaxial digital audio out. The screen type is a TFT unit with a native 1366 x 768 screen resolution at 60Hz. Picture-in-picture functionality is built in and the tuner is a single digital/analog (ATSC/NTSC) tuner with separate inputs. The aspect ratio is 16:9 and the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV measures in at 35.84 x 21.75 x 9.84 with the stand. The set is capable of resolutions of 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Typical screen brightness is 500 cd/m2 and the contrast ratio is 1000:1. Typical gray-to-gray response time is 8ms and viewing angles are 88 degrees horizontal and vertical. Movies & HDTVOnce I pulled the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV out of the box and placed it on my entertainment center, I was ready to connect the components up to the set. The stand the TV uses swivels, which is great for reaching the connections behind the set as well as getting the best screen position no matter where you are in the room. I use a digital HD cable tuner for my TV viewing connected via HDMI and a Denon S-310 upscaling 2.1 home theater system that connects via HDMI for DVD watching. If I had my PS3 in the living room as well, I would run short of HDMI connectors and a third HDMI is really the only thing I found missing on the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV. Image quality is top notch, just as it was on the 32 Dell HDTV I reviewed before. Colors were rich and vibrant, skin tones were natural and black levels were very good. Movies upscaled to 1080i looked fantastic and the fast 8ms response time of the set meant that no matter what action was onscreen no blurring, ghosting or tearing of the images was noticed. Sound quality from the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTVs removable speakers was fantastic. These two speakers have sound output better than the seriously expensive Pioneer Elite 60 plasma I reviewed that carries a price tag over $5000. Bass from the two skinny speakers was great and no matter what was happening on screen you could still hear the voices clearly. The Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV has the best onboard sound system that I have heard. Dell also couples a fantastic remote control with the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV that is easy to use and incorporates blue backlighting behind all of the keys so you dont have to fumble around in the dark looking for the right button. All of this performance and quality comes with a good price as well, the MSRP on the Dell W3707C 37 LCD HDTV is $1299.
