Once I popped my Cingular SIM card out of my trusty Razr, slipped it into the Latte Slim11b, and powered up I was very impressed with the color screen. The screen is a 1.9” 260k color TFT LCD that just looks fantastic. Full motion video and images look great with good skin tone reproduction and rich, vibrant colors. The sound system of the Latte Slim11b is good as well with 64 polymorphic sounds. The phone supports SMS, MMS and WAP as well. Storage of data on the phone including MP3, MP4 and images is done in the 64MB of onboard memory and when you run out of onboard storage, memory is expandable via a T-flash slot for Micro SD cards. Three built-in games are fun to play and have very good graphics as well as built-in image editor, ring tone composer, organizer, world clocks, calendar, to-do list, stopwatch, health check, and phone book. While Bluetooth is options, my review sample didn’t come equipped with that option, which was one of my few problems with this phone. If you like to shot pictures with your cell phone, you will like the 1.3mp camera with digital zoom. Image quality is nice and much better than my Motorola Razr. Using the Latte Slim11B Call quality was every bit as good as my Razr on both outgoing and incoming calls. The two things that I missed most from my Razr were the lack of Bluetooth the Slim11b and the lack of one touch dial. Perhaps most phone users don’t rely on one touch dial as much as I do (I don’t even know my wife’s cell number, just that I hit two to get her) and won’t feel this loss as much. The small size and thin nature mean I could slip the Latte Slim11b into my pocket and forget tit was there till the loud ring tone reminded me. Shooting video and still images with the Latte Slim11b is easy to do and you can transfer them to your PC with an included USB cable. Battery life was good with the phone needing to be charged after about six hours of use in my testing. If Bluetooth is a must for you, again it is an option on this phone according to Latte. That said for the masses out there who just want a small phone that is easy to use and offers good call quality it is hard to fault the Latte Slim11b as a replacement for an aging free handset your provider gave you.
