Features & Specifications
The PNY XLR8 DDR2 PC2-9384 RAM is rated for s a speed of 1173 MHz and latencies of 5-5-5-15 at 2.2V. The same heat spreader issue don the PNY XLR8 DDR2 PC2-9384 as was use don the previous XLR8 PC2-8500 RAM I tested with the change from a blue XLR8 sticker to a gold XLR8 sticker to signify the higher performance of the new kit. This RAM is only available in a 2GB dual channel kit, which is obviously, what I will be reviewing here. The PNY XLR8 DDR2 PC2-9384 is NVIDIA SLI certified with EPP support.

Test System
I tested the RAM in a test system with the following specifications:

• CPU- Intel QX6700
• Mainboard- XFX 680i
• OS- Windows XP Pro
• Video- XFX 8800 Ultra XXX
• Display- Dell 30” UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC
• RAM- PNY XLR8 DDR2 PC2-9384

Sandra XI Benchmarks
To test the RAM I used a trio of benchmarks from Sandra XI. The first test up was the Memory Bandwidth benchmark which showed the following test results:

• RAM Int Buff’d iSSE2- 5687 Mb/s
• RAM Bandwidth Float Buff’d iSSE2- 5689 MB/s

The next benchmark up was Cache and Memory, which gave the following results:

• Combined Index- 30229 MB/s
• Speed Factor- 114.7

The final benchmark up for the PNY XLR8 DDR2 PC2-9384 was the Memory Latency test which gave the following results:

• Random Access Time: 73ns
• Speed Factor- 65

Overclocking & Final Thoughts
After all the tests were complete, I overclocked the RAM as high as I could get it and ended up running at 1225MHz with 5-5-514 latencies. The system was completely stabile at these settings and ran flawlessly. Using the PNY XLR8 DDR2 PC2-9384 RAM was as easy as it gets for stock speeds, I simply plugged it into the slots on my mainboard and all settings were automatically configured, including the voltage.
