Features & Specifications The lenses are also interchangeable so you can use different colors and lens types for different situations. You can also get three different lens shapes for different amounts of coverage; the three different shapes are Radar Range, Radar Path, and Radar Pitch. My review pair had the Radar Range shape. Having grown up riding dirt bikes I am familiar with Oakley goggles and always preferred them for their superior air flow which helped keep them from fogging. The Oakley Radar sunglasses are also made with air channels to help you keep cool. Here in Texas where its very hot and humid outdoors, but cool inside I often found that lesser sunglasses would fog up when I went from inside to outside. I never had this problem with the Oakley Radar sunglasses; they never fogged on me once no matter the extreme in temperature change. Another great feature of the Oakley Radar is that they stay in place and don’t move. This is a huge deal if you are biking, running, riding a motor cycle or bend and move a lot. Glasses that don’t stay in place blow off or slip up and down on your head. The Oakley Radar lenses also meet all ANSI Z87.1 standards for high-mass and high-velocity impact protection. The lenses also block 100% of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. Oakley Radar sunglasses in Use When we went on vacation to the beach I wore the shades in the hotel pool playing with my kids. It always seems to me that there is as much sun block in a hotel pool as there is water. The sun block and water mixture rolled off the lenses as easily as sweat did with no marks left behind. Once my wife sprayed sun block on my face and got it all over the Oakley Radar shades. I used a bit of water on the lenses and the soft micro fiber cloth that acts as the bag style case Oakley sunglasses come with and the coating wiped right away. We also took a high speed boat ride to see dolphins. We ended up hanging over the side of the boat watching the dolphins swim and jump as the boat cut through the water. I have lost more than one pair of sunglasses boating over the years, but the Oakley Radar stayed right on my face and never moved a bit. The Oakley three point fit coupled with the lightweight materials used in the construction means that you literally forget you have the Radar shades on. Many times sunglasses become uncomfortable on me behind the ears. The Oakley Radar design doesn’t hook behind the ears making them more comfortable. The only really bad thing I can say about the Oakley Radar sunglasses is that the large frame size and the included semi-rigid case is bulky and can be hard to find a place for if you on the go a lot.
