The box the LTB Q-Bass headset ships in promises to do away with my two biggest pet peeves when it comet to headphones, poor bass and wires that tangle up. The LTB Q-Bass headset uses a wireless 2.4 GHz transmitter for connectivity and is compatible with both PC and Mac.

LTB claims the wireless range is up to 30 meters, which is impressive. A mic is built into the headphones with a mute switch on the rear of the left ear cup. Controls for pairing the LTB Q-Bass headset with the receiver, on/off, and volume levels are also located on the left ear cup.

The headphones are a shiny black along with matte black plastic that looks fantastic. The ear cups are smaller than many other headsets on the market giving them a streamlined look. The smaller size sacrifices a bit of padding, it could be a bit thicker, my ears touched the inside of the ear cups which could be uncomfortable for some. The headphones are powered by an internal rechargeable battery and charging is done via your PC USB port.

The antenna on the headphones is built into the ear cup ad uses digital diversity along with GSFK modulation for better reception. LTB claims full Windows Media Player remote functions as well.

Installation & Use
To set up the LTB Q-Bass headset there are no drivers or software required. You simply plug the headset in and charge it four hours prior to the first use and plug the transmitter into the USB port of your computer. Once everything was connected my computer recognized the headphones and the mic without issue.

I was concerned that the mic would not work well since it is the flush style, rather than the stalk style that sits closer to your mouth. I found that it picked up my voice without any problems and the friends I spoke to on Ventrilo didn’t even know I had switched from my high end Blue Snowball USB mic to the LTB Q-Bass headset onboard mic.

What will make or break a set of headphone sis their sound quality, and the LTB Q-Bass headset has fantastic sound quality. These headphones are called Q-Bass for good reason, they have the best bass output of any wireless headphones I have used, and sound better than 99% of the wired headphones I have tested as well. The bass is crisp and deep I can’t recall the last time I enjoyed the bass as much on a set of headphones.

The mids and highs weren’t neglected either, they were clear and crisp as well with voices clearly audible over the bass and instruments. Gaming was equally impressive; this wireless headset can game very well and allows you to use in game VOIP with voice clarity as good as any other headset out there and better than most.

You might worry about interference and short wireless range with the LTB Q-Bass headset, don’t. I was able to walk to the back of my house, right at 50 feet from the transmitter with four walls between me and the headset before I lost reception and all the while the music playing was a clear as it was when I was sitting in front of the computer. I am very impressed with the LTB Q-Bass headset, there is really nothing to not like here. A bit thicker padding on the ear cups and they would be near perfect.
