Features & Specifications The main paper tray holds 100 standard letter size sheets and can hold 8 x 10 photo paper as well. Kodak gives a print speed of up to 32 pages per minute in black and 30 pages per minute in color. The copy function can copy with 10-500% scaling and allows you to copy up to 99 pages at once. The biggest feature of the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer is the low cost ink. You can buy a black ink cartridge for only $9.99 and the five color ink cartridge sells for only $14.99. A kit containing one black and one color cartridge is available for $22.99. That is about half what the ink on my Epson RX700 printer costs to purchase. Kodak says their inks will last a lifetime under normal home use and the images and documents printed from the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer are dry and ready to handle immediately. Optional accessories allow you to duplex print pages for dual sided printing and allow you to print wirelessly from Bluetooth enabled devices. On the front of the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer a memory card reader is compatible with SD, XD, Memory Stick and CF cards. There is also a USB port that allows direct printing from PictBridge cameras and will allow prints directly from your USB flash drive. The printer is large measuring in at 18.8” W x 14.7” D x 8.9” H. Photo editing on the LCD display is limited to rotating your images, zooming and crop. Printing & Use Text printed is very sharp and clear with a mixed sheet of mostly black text and a few blue hyperlinks taking slightly over 27 seconds to print at best print quality. The scanner performs very well and was able to scan images to my computer for editing without any issues and the printed output looked very good. The media reader recognized my SD memory card from my digital camera without any issues. The LCD screen is large enough and has enough resolution that I cold tell while previewing images if the focus was good enough for the print to turn out well. Zooming and cropping were easy to accomplish, but I found it overly difficult to revert back to my original image if I wanted to print the entire photo after a crop. After years of using an Epson RX70 printer that held six separate ink tanks costing $14.99 each and not being able to find them easily it’s down right shocking to be able to walk into virtually any local store and pick up ink cartridges for the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer for under $25 for the set. I worried when I first received the printer that the low cost inks would mean there were less prints in the cartridges. However, that proved to be totally incorrect, I was able to get as many prints from one cartridge as I did with the Epson, for a fraction of the cost. Print quality if fantastic with the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer. I can take the prints I made using the 5300 and you can’t tell a difference between digital prints I had made at the local Wal-Mart or from professionally developed images. The only real issues I had with the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer was with the editing functions. They were a bit hard to use, and if you want to fix things like red eye you will need to go to external software to do so. Everything else about the Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-in-One Printer is great. Kodak even includes real ink cartridges with the printer, none of this half filled junk we are used to seeing. The cartridges that shipped with the printer lasted as long as normal retail cartridges.
