Features & Specifications Benchmarks & Testing Not too long ago I tested the OCZ 8GB SDHC card and it showed an average read speed of 15.4MB/sec and an average write speed of 11.3MB/sec. Both these cards were tested in the same SanDisk SDHC multi card reader. That makes the A-DATA 16GB SDHC card quite a bit faster than the OCZ card in read and write performance even though both cards are class 6 SDHC cards. The next test up was with Sandra XII’s removable storage benchmark. This test showed that the A-DATA 16GB SDHC card had a device index of 3895 ops/minute, and an endurance factor of 17.80. The 2MB files test showed a read performance of 511 ops/min or 1744Kb/sec, a write speed of 241 ops/min or 822KB/sec, and a delete speed of 6244 ops/min. For any memory card aimed at usage inside a digital camera, the real tests come in the form of real world performance inside the camera. To test this aspect I loaded the A-DATA 16GB SDHC card into my Nikon D80 and took some pictures. The card writes fast enough for continuous burst shooting as long as I hold the button down. As the cameras buffer fills, the speed the images are taken at drops slightly but continuous shooting is fast enough for action shots until the card is full. As you would expect the A-DATA 16GB SDHC card will hold twice as many images as the OCZ 8GB SDHC card. The card will store 2000 fine resolution images (full 10MP shots), 1200 full resolution Raw images, 4000 normal images, 7900 basic resolution images, 862 Raw +fine images, 1000 Raw + normal images. Overall the performance of the A-DATA 16GB SDHC card was top notch and anyone shooting high resolution digital images who is tired of changing memory cards frequently or who shoots video with SDHC camcorders should pick up an A-DATA 16GB SDHC card.
