The Everglide DKTBoard is very small and compact measuring in at only 402mm x 148mm x 24mm in size. That makes the Everglide DKTBoard more along the lines of a notebook keyboard size wise than a typical desktop keyboard. While the dimensions are small, the Everglide DKTBoard still packs in a full number pad. Along the top edge of the keyboard are eight multimedia keys for controlling multimedia and two of the keys are shortcut keys to the web and your preferred email application. The Everglide DKTBoard is powered by Razer, so the keyboard gets blue backlighting. The Everglide DKTBoard is available in either black aluminum or silver aluminum.

In Use
The small size of the Everglide DKTBoard means that the keys are arranged in a different layout than you typically see with a desktop keyboard. The odd layout makes for a learning curve finding keys you are probably used to simply hitting without thinking on full size keyboards. Typing feel on the Everglide DKTBoard is good. The keys are a bit more spongy feeling than some other gaming keyboards I have used like the Logitech G15 or the Razer Tarantula.

The keys do offer good tactile feedback though and provide an audible click so you know when you have activated the key. The backlighting on the keyboard is very bright and uniform over the entire keyboard. All the keys are backlit and you can turn the backlight on or off, there is no dimming function. The top of the keyboard that surrounds the keys is aluminum, my test unit was black aluminum but you can get silver as well.

Everglide makes no mention of anti-ghosting technology being built into the Everglide DKTBoard. However, in my extended gaming sessions I had no issues with ghosting while playing games. The Everglide DKTBoard has a pair of stands to angle the rear of the keyboard up if you desire. No wrist rest is provided with the keyboard, but the thin profile of only 11mm tall makes tying comfortable.

The full number pad will be great for users who need to be able to do normal computer work with the keyboard as well. If you are the type who likes tons of macros this won’t be the keyboard for you. The most oddly positioned keys on the Everglide DKTBoard are the page up and page down buttons which are located between the right alt and ctrl keys. The other keys are laid out like typical notebook keyboards so any user familiar with working on a notebook will feel right at home.
