Features & Specifications
Razer says it named the Destructor mouse pad after the Gigantiops Destructor ant. The Razer Destructor claims to provide up to 25% better tracking for optical mice and 37% better tracking on gaming laser mice as compared to other gaming surfaces. The surface of the Destructor uses Razer’s fractal surface for improved precision. Dimensions for the Destructor are 350mm L x 280mm W x 2.3mm H. the base of the pad is covered in a non-slip rubber material for grip on smooth surfaces. The Destructor also ships in a protective, zippered carry case.

The Razer Destructor is a matte black mouse pad that has a slight texture to it. The texture on the mouse pad is slightly rough, but not too rough. The texture of the pad is between what you typically see in a smooth surface mouse pad and a rough surface.

In Use
When in use the Razer Fractal surface texture provides smooth movement with some tactile feedback. This isn’t the slipperiest mouse pad I have used, but represents a good compromise between a slick surface for speed and a rough surface for accuracy. The flat black color of the Destructor with black writing is a stealthy look that is subdued.

The padded, zippered carry case is a nice addition and will keep the mouse pad from getting marred or scratched when traveling to LAN parties or competitions. With a thickness of only 2.3mm, the Destructor has a very slim profile that makes for comfortable extended use.

I normally game with an X-Ray Technology Thunder 9 mouse pad. I didn’t find the Razer Destructor to be any more or less accurate than the Thunder 9 I am used to. What I did like was the thin profile of the Razer Destructor. The Thunder 9 is more than twice the thickness and can get uncomfortable after extended use.

The entire back of the Razer Destructor is coated in a non-slip rubber finish rather than simply having a rubber pad at each corner. The much larger surface area of non-slip coating means the Razer Destructor stays in place no matter how hard you are playing. The surface of my desk is very smooth and I have had problems with mouse pads slipping around on it before. However, the Razer Destructor stayed in place no matter how fast I moved the mouse.

The zippered carry case is a nice touch and has enough room for you to put your mouse inside the case as well. The sides of the case are semi-rigid and do a great job protecting the mouse pad. The case is thin enough that it fits easily inside a backpack or your carryon luggage. The Razer Destructor is one of the more expensive mouse pads on the market with an MSRP of $39.99.
