Features & Specifications
The Insignia Sport 2GB MP3 player has 2GB of internal flash memory and is Bluetooth enabled for connecting to wireless headphones. The screen is a smallish 1.7-inch color LCD. The player features a built-in FM tuner with RDS data and an EQ with four settings. A microSD card slot is located on the side for memory expansion. The battery is a rechargeable Li-ion good for 25 hours of playback and charging is done via USB.

The Insignia Sport 2GB MP3 player is compatible with Mac and PC and supports Rhapsody To Go, Urge, iTunes, Napster and more in addition to being PlaysForSure compatible. The player is available in several colors, my test unit was blue. The form factor is very small with a thickness of only 0.4-inches, width of 1.6-inches and a weight of 1.4 ounces. Supported digital formats include MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, WMA DRM, and OGG. A color matcher pair of ear buds is included as well.

In Use
Sound quality is very good and easily on par with my iPhone and the plethora of SanDisk Sansa players I have tried over the years. The ear buds have a nice long cable so you can move around without snagging the cord. You can save data on songs you hear over FM frequencies if the station broadcasts RDS data.

The player and stock headphones deliver good bass and sharp highs and lows. The menus are navigated using a round nav wheel that is easy to use and the menus are well laid out. Pairing the Insignia Sport 2GB MP3 player to Insignia branded Bluetooth headphones is easy to do and worked very well.

The LCD screen has sharp colors and can play video, though the small size of the screen makes watching videos difficult to do. Still images are also supported as well. The FM tuner works decently, but the antenna doesn’t have much power making for poor reception in areas where I have been able to get good reception on MP3 players before.
