Features & Specifications
The Logitech MX 1100 has features you typically only see on gaming mice - like adjustable sensitivity. The Logitech MX 1100 has up to 1600 dpi of sensitivity. The range can be adjusted to a low of 400 dpi. The mouse uses 2.4GHz wireless technology with a micro USB receiver that connects to the computer via USB.

Power for the mouse comes from a pair of AA batteries good for up to 9 months of use. The scroll wheel is the great hyper-fast wheel first seen on the MX Revolution. The MX 1100 has ten programmable buttons including a pair of thumb buttons and scroll wheel movements. The mouse supports Windows XP, Vista, and Mac OS X 10.3.9.

The design of the Logitech MX 1100 is right-hand only and it feels good in the hand. It is much thicker than the Logitech G9 mouse I commonly use every day, but comfortable. The left side thumb buttons are placed very well and are out of the way so you don't hit them by mistake, yet they can be reached easily when needed.

In Use
The MX 1100 is the first non-gaming mouse I have seen with a switch for adjusting sensitivity. The adjustment is towards the front of the mouse, right next to the left main mouse button. The scroll wheel can be pressed for middle mouse button click. This was something several previous Logitech mice using the free-wheel scroll wheel lacked.

To change between click mode and free-wheel mode on the MX 1100 you press a small button located under the scroll wheel. The mouse can be turned off to save battery life, but it will shut down on its own when left alone for an extended period.

In use the Logitech MX 1100 is good, the added sensitivity makes it much better for use with a large display than most general use mice. In most use, the mouse is fantastic. However, I did notice that when trying to complete small movements with the mouse, lag is apparent.

For instance when I try to highlight a specific word from a paragraph, lag is apparent and the mouse moves a good quarter inch before the cursor actually moves on screen. This made it much more difficult for me to highlight precisely at low movement speeds than when using the corded G9 I normally use.
