Specifications
The Eagle Arion iDock Speaker has 20 watts of total RMS power split into 5watts for each satellite and 10 watts for the integrated woofer. The total peak power output of the system is 40 watts and the frequency response is 30Hz to 20kHz. The drivers for the satellites are dual 3-inch full spectrum units with a solid wood enclosure. The subwoofer has a 4-inch driver with a solid wood enclosure. The speaker dimensions are 4.72-inches x 11.02-inches x 7.67-inches. The system also includes a small IR remote for controlling the music across the room.

In Use
The Eagle Arion iDock Speaker dock is a nice looking little system, though it is a larger iPod dock so be sure you have the space for it before you order. The iPod dock on the top should support all the dockable iPods out there and worked with my iPhone. I did get the warning from my iPhone saying that the dock was not made to work with the iPhone though.

In addition to the iPod dock, the Eagle Arion iDock Speaker also has a USB port on the rear for connecting it to a PC and RCA inputs are offered as well. I hoped the USB port would play older non-dockable iPods like the original shuffle that only have a USB port, but it would not.

The sound quality from the Eagle Arion iDock Speaker is very good. The system has surprising levels of bass and good mid and high range sounds as well. You can adjust the bass and treble levels separately and controls are located on top of the dock and on the remote for controlling the music playback.

For some reason the top controls on the Eagle Arion iDock Speaker would not control the music or volume on my iPhone. The controls built into the dock to skip tracks and play/pause the system simply did nothing with my iPhone. However, the remote worked perfectly. I am not sure if this is an issue with my review unit alone or if the integrated controls simply don’t support the iPhone. I don’t have another dockable iPod handy to see if it's an iPhone issue alone.

One of the best features of the dock's larger size is that it has an internal power supply. That means you don’t have a huge brick hanging behind the machine that you have to deal with. All you need to do to set the Eagle Arion iDock Speaker up is plug its AC card into an outlet and you are done. You can find the Eagle Arion iDock Speaker online at about $80 making the dock a nice all around deal.

Update: A friend stopped by after this review was published with an iPod touch. This dock is not compatible with the iPod touch.
