Features & Specifications
The Plantronics Discovery 975 has a carry case that has a battery inside to recharge the headset on the go. Plantronics' audioiQ2 technology is built-in with two mics to capture your voice and cancel out unwanted noise. The device also has three layers of wind protection with electronic filters and acoustic fabric. Plantronics also ships the headset with three different size ear tips for a comfortable fit and the headset has only two buttons to control all of its functions.

In Use
The Plantronics Discovery 975 is definitely one of the best looking headsets I have reviewed. All of the hardware is inside a small square but that sits on your ear. The boom that has the mic is very thin and looks great.

Plantronics put some thought into the gel ear tips that the 975 uses. The 975 lacks an ear hoop to keep it in place, and it doesn't need it. The ear tips are grippy and they have a flange of soft plastic that sticks out the back of the ear tip to stabilize the earpiece and help lock it in place without needing an ear hoop.

The Plantronics Discovery 975 also includes a small leather-look case that has a charger inside to give the headset extra run time. The little case conforms to the headset and can greatly extend the battery life of the device when using it, ensuring you can go all day on one charge and then some.

The controls of the Plantronics Discovery 975 are very simple. One button answers calls and ends calls. The other smaller button on the side of the headset controls the volume. Pairing the headset with my iPhone 3GS was a snap and didn’t even require a pin number.

Voice quality with the Plantronics Discovery 975 was fantastic. On my end of conversations things sounded as good as they do with the iPhone up to my ear. The people I called didn’t even know I was on a headset, which is about the best thing you can say about one.

The only thing I can find that is bothersome about the Plantronics Discovery 975 is that the battery case is such a tight fit that it took a few tries to get the headset to connect with the little USB plug inside. I also had a bit of an issue getting the headset out of the case with one hand.
