Features & Specifications
The is a mid-tower case that measures 214 x 496 x 489mm. The front bezel is plastic and the case is black in color. The body and side panels are CECC steel and the case weighs 9.55kg. There are five external 5.25" drive bays and four internal 3.5" drive bays. The case supports ATX and M-ATX mainboards and ships with a 140mm front and top fan and a 120mm rear fan. The case has eight PCI slots on the rear.

In Use
The LanCool PC-K62 puts the mainboard at the top of the case above the PSU. Lots of cases are using this layout to make getting to the mainboard easier and keep the heat producing PSU in its own area. The case is large enough to support enthusiast GPU solutions with large video cards and 3-way SLI if needed.

The entire chassis is tool-free and you don’t need tools to secure the mainboard to the chassis, the screws are long and designed to be installed with your fingers. That is a nice feature; most cases that say tool-free still require a screwdriver to install the mainboard.

The case has a nice default cooling system that has low RPM fans to keep the noise down, yet the fans are large enough that they move plenty of air to keep your gear cool. Each of the fans is mounted with rubber grommeted screws to reduce vibration and make for a quiet room while you are playing your favorite game.

The drive rails require no tools and press against your optical drives with rubber pads to reduce vibration even further for the system. The HDD bays are also tooless and designed to reduce vibration as well. Even the retaining system for add in cards is tool-free and uses rubber to prevent vibration. These features all team up to make the LanCool PC-K62 one of the quietest cases I have tested. Even the PSU requires no tools with this chassis.

The case is well designed and well laid out. I don’t carry computers to LAN parties so I don't mind the heavy steel construction of the case. If you do frequent LAN parties, you can find lighter cases for your needs, but they won't have all the sweet tool-free features of the LanCool PC-K62 .
