Specifications
The Tech N9ne earphones have 10mm neodymium magnets and a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz. The sensitivity is 103dB/mW with an impedance of 23 Ohms. The Tech N9ne earphones sell for $59.99 and the case is black nickel.

In Use
The Tech N9ne is a very interesting set of earphones. The box they ship in is shaped like a coffin and inside the clear window, you can see the earphones themselves with a skull design on the earpieces. The metal case of the earphones is heavy thanks to the metal they are made from. Most plastic earphones will feel lighter in the ear.

The earphones are heavy enough that with exertion they may slip out of your ears. Three different sizes of ear tips ship with the headphones including small, medium, and large. In addition to the black nickel skills, the Tech N9ne earphones also have a black and red braided cable design that is very cool.

This is the first set of earphones that I have tested that actually had a cable that was attractive. I tested the Tech N9ne with my iPhone and I wished that the headphones had a mic built-in to allow phone calls. These headphones lack any controller for the iPod or iPhone track. These are just straight headphones with no media controller functions.

The skulls in the ears will be something you either love or hate. However, you can’t deny the cool factor. Sound quality is very good with nice mids and highs and good bass. I would put these headphones in my top five if I were shopping for a new set and could stand the skull design.
