Specifications
The CEIVA Pro 80 has an included USB WiFi adapter to allow the connection to your wireless network. The frame also has a built-in memory card reader and a built-in phone jack to allow you to send photos over a hone lone. The frame is an 8-inch unit with a 640 x 480 resolution. The total weight of the frame is 3 pounds. The frame also has a removable insert to change the color.

In Use
The CEIVA Pro 80 is a web-connected frame that can be connected via a phone line or WiFi network. This is the key feature of the frame. By connecting the device, you can send photos to the frame anywhere and have them show up on the frame. That means you can give the thing to grandma and then send pictures of the grandkids to it without having to go to where the frame is or try to talk someone through the install process.

The frame is also designed to be able to show pictures from a media server on your home network. Setting up the wireless network feature is easy, but can be tedious the first time around. The onscreen keyboard is a lot like an old alphanumeric phone where multiple key presses are needed for one button to get specific letters. Typing in my long network key was a massive pain. The good part is that you only need to do that once.

Setting up the media server is a much more difficult proposition and you need to have a media server on your network, the CEIVA Pro 80 doesn't include any software for this. Thankfully, most operating systems already have this built in including Vista. I don’t have a landline in my home so I could not test the phone uploading feature of the frame.

The frame does need PicturePlan service with Cevia to use the remote upload feature. The frame includes a year of service and then the service is renewable each year. Image quality on the frame is top notch. Pictures are large, clear, and have great color. Skin tones are natural and the frame is among the best for visual quality.

There is none of the banded or overly bright images that plague some digital frames. The CEIVA Pro 80 includes two interchangeable frame finishes with one black and one wood frame. The wood frame is a darker looking faux wood made from plastic.
