Samsung G800 5MP Camera Phone official

Samsung unveils the Samsung G800 camera phone, which is the world’s first 5MP camera phone with 3x optical zoom (emphasis on optical zoom, 5MP camera phones are not unique anymore, see also the Samsung G600 launched this Summer). Update: The Sharp 910SH available through Softbank in Japan also has 5MP and 3x optical zoom and is apparently already available since a year. Thanks Paul S.

On the backside the Samsung G800 looks like a normal digital camera featuring a sliding lens cover.
Other camera features of the Samsung G800 include Xenon flash, panorama shots, multi shots, and macro shots, video editing functions and video sharing options to upload images and videos to the net. Read more

Samsung SPH-V7800 5MP Digital Camera Phone Launches

Samsung is set to launch their new SPH-V7800 5MP digital camera phone in, yes you guessed it, Korea.

On the front the SPH-V7800 is a mobile phone on the backside (see photo) a digital camera.
The Samsung SPH-V7800 has many features found in state of the art digital cameras. Linear zoom, 4x digital zoom, auto focus, ISO setting, flash, 16 shooting modes, color tone and filter functions.

Besides that the SPH-V7800 mobile phone is a music player. It also has OCR for business cards that extracts the name and address information out of business card photos - neat. To top it off the SPH-V7800 is coated in bacteria-killing silver nano particles.

New Casio Exilim EX-S500 5MP Slim Digital Camera

Casio announces a new Exilim digital camera. The new Exilim EX-S500 is a 5MP digital camera with Anti-Blur Technology and MP4 video recording.

The EX-S500 measures 3.54" (W) x 2.32" (H) x .63" (D) ( thinnest point .54"). This measurements are comparable to the Sony DSC-T7.
Orange, white and silver are the colors the Casio Exilim EX-S500 will be available also outside of Japan. Other features include 2.2 inch screen, SD-Card slot, 8.3MB internal storage, 3x optical and 4x digital zoom and world time.
The new Casio camera is supposed to ship in July for around $550.

Amazon.com started to take pre-orders for the new JVC Everio GZ-MC500, the world's smallest 3 CCD Camcorder. The JVC GZ-MC500 digital camcorder with 4GB built-in hard-drive and 5 mega pixel resolution was announced by JVC in February. The GZ-MC500 creates images by dedicating a 1.33 (1.23 effective) mega pixel CCD to each color: red, green and blue. JVC's advanced prism optics and filter-less 3-CCD pixel shift technology quadruple the pixel count to 5 mega pixel stills. The new Everio records Video with 720 x 480/60 in the highest mode. Features include: 16:9 video recording, 10x optical zoom, 200 digital zoom, 1.8 inch LCD screen and pop-up flash. The JVC Everio GZ-MC200 was/is already cool. I own one, read the review. I am though a bit ticked off how quick JVC introduces the GZ-MC500, which has just so much more performance. At least it is still more expensive than the GZ-MC200. Camborg reports about the new Fujifilm Z1 elegant and slim 5MP digital camera. The Fujifilm Finepix Z1 5MP digital camera goes straight against the successful Sony DSC-T1/T3 thin digital cameras. The Fujifilm Z1 is 18.6mm thick. The Sony DSC-T3 is slimmer though with 17.3mm. Fujifilm highlights a new low light technology to get better photos in low light situations. Called Real Photo Technology, the camera's 5th generation Super CCD HR sensor is linked with a new, advanced RP Processor.
