Sony Neither Confirms nor Deny's 80GB PS3
Kotaku asked for and received an official response from Sony regarding the FCC document found yesterday that showed a possible 80GB PS3. The filing was for a change to the WiFi/Bluetooth module, but showed an 80GB PS3 listed along side the 60GB version.
The Sony response to Kotaku was "As mentioned when we made the product announcement for PS3, the system will have different configurations (thus, 60GB HDD with memory card slots and Wi-Fi and 20GB HDD without memory card slots or Wi-Fi both exists). Application to the FCC has been made with various possibilities in mind, however, it does not lead to a new product announcement at this time." Read more

Sony to Add 80GB PS3 to Lineup?
A rumor is circulating about saying that Sony has visions of a more expensive 80GB version of the PS3 in mind. Gizmodo has a FCC document posted on their site supposedly showing that Sony has asked to add an 80GB version to the existing 60GB.
The document doesn’t mention the 20GB PS3 which may or may not shed light on the validity of the document. I’m no FCC expert but you would think with original models they would list the 20GB PS3 which was rumored to be discontinued and then Sony itself said it was still available, retailers just didn’t ask for it much. Epson Photo Fine Player P-4000 Features 80GB HDD
Epson offers a new Photo Fine Player model with a large 80GB hard-drive - Epson P-4000.
The Epson P-2000 was released one year ago and sported a 40GB hard-drive. The new P-4000 features more storage, but that is all the difference I can see so far. It still measures 147x31.4x84mm and weighs approximately 415 grams.
The Epson PMP views photos, but also plays MP4 video and MP3 music. Epson is
focusing though on photo viewing with this portable media player. Other portable video player, more focused on Video playback are more advanced and more compact (see the upcoming Archos AV500).

LockBox 80GB Biometric Access HDD Review
EverythingUSB reviews the Micro Solutions LockBox 80GB, which is a Hi-Speed USB hard drive with built-in fingerprint authentication feature.
Quote:
"The Micro Solutions LockBox is a USB 2.0 external hard drive built from the famous “Backback” series that has been offered for some time. We are testing the 80GB version. The difference between this offering and other Backpack drives is a biometric fingerprint security system for hiding partitions and securing one’s data. Once set up, a user only needs to use a touch to unlock hidden partitions on this drive rather than entering a username and password."

Ximeta NetDisk 80GB hard drive Review
Designtechnica reviews the Ximeta NetDisk 80GB hard drive. We posted recently a Ximeta NetDisk Review by EnvyNews as well.
Quote:
The Ximeta NetDisk is sure to change the future of external storage due
to its easy setup and affordable price. Our NetDisk 80GB drive performed
well, and was quiet and reliable in all of our tests and we are very
happy to see that Ximeta will be adding Linux and Mac support to the
NetDisk product line in the near future. If you are looking for a
portable hard drive and blazing speed is a determining factor, then the
NetDisk might not be for you. But if you are looking for an easy and
affordable way to add storage to your home or small business network
then look no further than the Ximeta's NetDisk.

Ximeta NetDisk 80GB Review
We reported about the Ximeta NetDisk portable hard drives in august.
Our friends at EnvyNews have posted a review about the XiMeta NetDisk.
An external hard disk with a spin – USB 2.0 and 10/100 Ethernet connectivity. The ultimate network share.
A quote from the review:
“Ximeta has a different philosophy when it comes to portable storage. With the release of their NetDisk a few weeks ago, they put a spin on the interfaces. Not only are they using a high-speed 420Mbps USB 2.0 port, but are using a 100Mbps Ethernet port as well. This storage drive becomes the true network share - a must at home or small-office. Ximeta has varying capacities and colors to suit all needs.”

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80gb Hard Drive Review
TwistedMods writes:
There isn't really much to say...our reviewer josh had a chance to check out Maxtor's secret 8mb cache harddrive and apparently he enjoyed it! It way out performed the Western Digital 80gb with 8mb cache which was fairly suprising (since i run two of them in my machine.
QUOTE: "If you’re a gamer or a speed enthusiast, then this is the drive for you. If you’re not willing to spend the extra money for the newer Serial ATA technology or highly expensive SCSI drives, then I recommend considering this drive. It performed well in every benchmark and I even noticed a speed increase in program load times when I upgraded from my old drive to this one. Maxtor really has made a superior product here and I can’t wait to test more of their products. Nice job Maxtor!"

New Panasonic DVD Recorder with 80GB HD
DMR-E80HS
Panasonic introduces two DVD recorders as part of a new worldwide "DIGA" (digital + giga) DVD recorder line.
The new DMR-E80 DVD/hard disk recorder features 80GB of built-in memory. It provides up to 104 hours of recording time on its hard drive and up to 6 hours on a removable 4.7 GB DVD-RAM disc (both in Extended Play mode.)
The Panasonic DMR-E80 plays DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, Video CD, CD, CD-R andCD-RW.
The Panasonic Time Slip feature allows to skip back to watch a program currently being recorded from any point that's already been recorded — while continuing to record the live program in progress.
The DMR-E80 (DMR-E80HS) has an MSRP of $699.95.
The press-release says the Panasonic DMR-E80 will be available at retail in July. Amazon.com is taking already pre-orders at a price of $556.99.
The Panasonic DMR-E60, which features an SD Memory Card slot, a PCMCIA slot and a DV input terminal, is designed for interaction with digital still cameras and digital camcorders. The DMR-E60 (DMR-E60S) has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $599.95 and will be available at retail in May.
Panasonic captured over 60% percent market share in DVD recorders sold in the US.
Sales of DVD recorders to consumers in 2002 grew more than one-hundredfold over the comparable period in the previous year, according to The NPD Group, and analysts predict sales of DVD recorders in the U.S. will reach one million units in 2003.
We reported recently about the Sony NDR-XR1 PVR/DVD Recorder, that one is only available in Japan.
