Asus Eee 901, 1000 and 1000H Pricing
Asus announced the new Atom based Asus Eee PC 901, Eee PC 1000 and Eee PC 1000H at the Computex 2008 last week. The pricing of the next generation Asus Eee PCs for the United States has surfaced through Laptop Mag.
The Asus Eee PC 901 Linux and Windows XP versions will sell for $599 each.
In my opinion the price is too high. An important aspect of the success of the Asus Eee PC had been price. Sure we want better and faster versions, but the price needs to keep a distance from normal Windows Notebook prices.

Asus Eee PC 901 Review
Asus announced the new Intel Atom based Asus Eee PC 901 at the Computex 2008 last week. Laptop Mag already got their hands on an Asus Eee PC 901 running Windows XP and published a review.
Quote from the review: "The most-talked-about feature of the Eee PC 901 is its 1.6-GHz Intel Atom processor. Applications such as Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player opened quickly (which may be attributable to the 1GB of RAM and 12GB solid state drive), and we saw no performance hit when we chatted with friends using Meebo while streaming music, Web surfing, and checking e-mail.

Gateway FMC-901X Media Center PC Review
DesignTechnica reviews Gateway FMC-901X Media Center PC -
Quote:
"The FMC-901X is a great system for those wanting to try something new. Gateway was the first to incorporate a computer into the home theater with the introduction of their Destination series systems, and the FMC-901X shows how well this genre has evolved. The FMC-901X is a very powerful system capable of playing the best video games, editing home movies and watching television. The system design is clean and attractive and should look good in most home theater setups. Gateway can still improve upon the FMC-901X by adding quieter cooling, integrating WiFi and adding more internal expansion. But as far as Media Center PC’s go in the mainstream computer market, the Gateway FMC-901X is a serious contender. "
