Latest Actroid Female Robot Looks Cuter and Wears Hello Kitty Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Japanese animatronics company Kokoro updated its Actroid female robot. I first did not get why the Actroid wears a Hello Kitty T-Shirt, until I saw that Kokoro now belongs to the Sanrio Group, who is responsible for the Hello Kitty stuff polluting the world.

If you compare the face of the orginal Actroid from 2003 with the current one, you can see that she got much more attractive looking. She looks younger and happier too.

The new Actroid version DER2 can apparently deliver more facial expressions. The female robot can still not walk around, but besides that she looks, speaks and behaves very life-like. Read more

Topic:

Actroid Robot in Booth Babe Outfit Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review AkihabaraNews has several photos of the Actroid female robot wearing plastic mini-skirt and boots - the signature outfit of Asian Trade-show Booth Babes - nice touch.

What is interesting that the robot is still called Actroid. In June we reported that the female robot is supposed to be called now Repliee Q1. I do not know how old the photos are that AkihabaraNews is featuring today. They should be from the Aichi World Expo 2005, which is long over. So it could be that the photos have been taken before they renamed the Actroid to Repliee Q1. Anyway the photos are still worth looking at.

The photos I have seen so far of the Actroid only showed her wearing conservative clothes. Now the life-like robot looks hot. Read more

Actroid Robot at the World Expo 2005 in NEDO Pavilion Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review

yes this is a face of a robot. Japanese Energy Technology company NEDO presents the amazing Actroid in their robot pavilion at the World Exposition 2005 in Aichi, Japan.

We reported about the realistic female Actroid robot the first time in 2003.

The Actroid understands naturally spoken words and can carry on a conversation with a guest, answering in a natural voice. The Actroid speaks Chinese, Korean, English and Japanese. When communicating with a guest the ACTROID responds with natural gestures such eye movement and smiling.
Looks like (see photo below) the actroid will sit in a booth and Expo visitors can walk up to her to ask questions. The realism is just amazing on this robot.

More details on the NEDO Expo site and Kokoro Dreams site. A video of the Actroid can be seen here.
