NitroAV Fusion PCIe/eSATA Host Adapter Available
NitroAV has unveiled a new combination PCI Express x4 slot host adapter that works with Mac, Windows, and Linux computers. The card adds FireWire 800 and 3Gbps eSATA ports to a computer. The adapter is described as a professional grade eSATA.1394b card that will work with just about any connected device.
The card uses native PCIe chips from silicon image and Texas instruments. The card has two FireWire 800 ports externally and a single internal FireWire 800 port. The device also has two external eSATA ports and has an optional power connecter that can offer power over FireWire 800. Read more

Sony Recalls Computer AC Adapters Over Shock Risk
There have been several recalls in the last few week of products in the consumer electronics world. Today Sony has issued a recall of 69,000 AC adapters for various models of its VAIO computers. The specific adapter recalled is the Sony VGP-AC19V17.
The power adapter was supplied for use with the VAIO all-in-one computers, VAIO docking stations, VGC-LT, and VGC-JS2 series of computers and the VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1 models. The adapters were sold at the SonyStyle store and website from September 2005 to October 2009. Read more

Cooler Master Unveils NA 65 and NA 90 Notebook Power Adapters
Cooler Master is definitely known for its line of computer cases and other computer accessories. The company isn’t really super well known outside of the chassis realm for other products for notebooks. Cooler Master has debuted its new universal notebook power adapters called the NA 65 and NA 90.
The new adapters have passed the US EPA's Energystar requirements and are up to 90% efficient. Both of the power adapters come with nine different tips to make it compatible with most notebooks and to ensure that the user will be able to power and charge their notebooks. Read more

Emerge Technologies Announces Sync-n-Charge Adapters for iPhone and More
Emerge Technologies has announced a new iPhone accessory called the Sync-N-Charge adapter for iPhone. The adapter also works with other devices as well. The device is a combo unit charger that can charge the iPhone in the car, from a wall, and from a computer.
The charger also has a pair of USB ports for charging other USB devices at the same time. The USB cable for the device is retractable for portability. There are models for the iPhone, microUSB mobile phones, Zune, Sansa, Philips, Archos, and the Nintendo DS. Read more

Belkin Unveils Headphone Adapter for iPod Shuffle
The new iPod shuffle is one of the less expensive and more popular iPod models on the market. The big problem with the shuffle is that the device has no external controls so users have been stuck with the stock headphones that have the integrated controls.
Belkin has announced a new adapter for the shuffle that allows the user to use any headphones with the player by adding a short cable with controls for the shuffle between the headphones and the player. The cable plugs into the shuffle and any 3.5mm connector headphones plug into it. Read more

Netgear Launches MoCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter
Netgear has unveiled its latest Coax to Ethernet adapter. The new product is called the MOCA Coax-Ethernet Adapter Kit MCAB1001 and is designed to extend your network to coax cables inside your home. Netgear says that the adapter is perfect for streaming HD video content around your home.
The device promises performance of up to 270 Mbps and uses the MoCA 1.1 specifications that ensure compatibility with cable and DSL Internet service. The product has enough power to connect to devices over a maximum of 300 feet of cable between a node and an outlet. Read more

WildCharge Announces Universal Wire-Free Mobile Phone Adapter
WildCharge has been showing off its wire-free charging solution for a while now, and I will admit it is an interesting device. It's not wireless, but you can place your phone on the WildCharge pad and charge the battery without having to plug anything in.
The only catch is that the phone must have a WildCharge adapter installed. The company makes adapters for several specific phones and has now announced a universal adapter that will work for most phones. Read more

Trendnet has announced that it is now shipping its new TEW-664UB 300Mbps dual band wireless N USB adapter. The adapter is compatible with both Mac and windows computers and allows users to choose their network frequency between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The dual frequency design allows the user to choose the best frequency for their needs and for their home.

SRS Announces iWOW Adapter for iPod
SRS Labs has announced a new product for iPod and iTunes called the SRS iWOW. For iTunes, the SRS iWOW Software is offered and the iPod gets the SRS iWOW Adapter. The iPod adapter is a device that plugs into the iPod dock connector and provides listeners with a simulated surround sound experience over earbuds or headphones.
The adapter promises deep bass, clear high-frequency sound, and 3D audio over the iPod for any content played. The adapter works with all iPods using the 30-pin connector. The iWOW software plug-in for iTunes does the same thing for music played on the computer and allows listeners to customize the sound with presets like rock, classical, and more. Audioengine has released a new wireless adapter for the iPod called the W2 Premium Wireless Adapter. The device is designed to plug into the iPod and a receiver connects to your stereo to give control over music from your iPod.

The Dual CF – SATA Adapter has dual CF slots to allow for using two CF cards as the same time via a SATA or USB connection.

EVGA Adds USB Video Adapters to Lineup
Kensington isn’t the only company bringing a new USB display adapter to market using DisplayLink technology. EVGA has added a pair of USB adapters to its product line called the UV12 and the UV16. The EVGA adapters are XP and Vista compatible only.
The EVGA UV12 supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 or 1440 x 900 widescreen. The UV16 ups the supported resolution to 1600 x 1200 or 1680 x 1050 widescreen. The adapters are stackable and up to four additional displays can be connected via the adapters to one PC. The adapters support mirrored desktop, extended display and a primary display. Exact pricing is unknown, but EVGA says both will retail for well below $100. If that is correct it makes them much cheaper than the Kensington adapter. Read more
