Adobe Flash on iPhone not possible with current iPhone SDK Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Comments made by Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen on Wednesday suggested that Adobe would be bringing Flash to the iPhone with the SDK that is currently available.

Now Adobe has clarified that the iPhone SDK is too limited to bring Adobe Flash to the iPhone just now.
It looks like the whole thing is a big misunderstanding. Read more

This comes at a critical point in Microsoft's ongoing debate with Adobe about MS's venture to create their own PDF-like format known as XPS (XML Paper Specification). Concerns are already being raised about the legal ramifications of such a move. Read more

Adobe Systems Inc. announced that they are to buy Macromedia Inc. for about $3.4 billion in stock.

The merger gives Adobe access to the Macromedia Flash products, the dominant animated software on the Internet, which is also expanding right now into mobile phones.
For Web designers this could also mean that Macromedia and Adobe design software will be more integrated.
