Adobe Air for Linux Alpha released
Adobe announces the availability of the alpha release of Air for Linux.
Adobe introduced AIR in June of 2007. Adobe AIR is a cross-operating system application runtime that allows developers to use HTML/CSS, Ajax, Adobe Flash and Adobe Flex to extend rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop.

Adobe Flash on iPhone not possible with current iPhone SDK
Comments made by Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen on Wednesday suggested that Adobe would be bringing Flash to the iPhone with the SDK that is currently available.
Now Adobe has clarified that the iPhone SDK is too limited to bring Adobe Flash to the iPhone just now.
It looks like the whole thing is a big misunderstanding.

Microsoft licenses Adobe Flash Lite and Reader LE
Adobe announces that Microsoft licensed Adobe Flash Lite, Adobe’s Flash Player runtime specifically designed for mobile devices and Adobe Reader LE software for viewing Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) documents including email attachments and web content.
Both Adobe products will be made available to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide, who license Windows Mobile software.

Adobe aquires Virtual Ubiquity and its Buzzword App
Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) announced today that it will acquire Virtual Ubiquity and its online word processor, Buzzword.
The acquisition furthers Adobe's commitment to foster an ecosystem for rich Internet application (RIA) development built on Adobe AIR.
Separately, Adobe added a new file sharing service to its current online document services. Codenamed “Share,” the beta service will make it easier than ever for people to share, publish and organize documents online.

Microsoft Using Monopolistic Powers To Bring Down Adobe?
In an AP story Friday, it was announced that Microsoft, who previously said that you would be able to save documents from MS Office 2007 in PDF format, will instead add the feature as a free download from their website and not include it with the software.
This comes at a critical point in Microsoft's ongoing debate with Adobe about MS's venture to create their own PDF-like format known as XPS (XML Paper Specification). Concerns are already being raised about the legal ramifications of such a move.

Adobe Systems Inc. announced that they are to buy Macromedia Inc. for about $3.4 billion in stock.
The merger gives Adobe access to the Macromedia Flash products, the dominant animated software on the Internet, which is also expanding right now into mobile phones. For Web designers this could also mean that Macromedia and Adobe design software will be more integrated.
