First Adult Content iPhone App available

In May we already reported that Apple was likely going to approve iPhone Apps with adult content when iPhone 3.0 OS became available. MacEinstein (via Techmeme) reports that the first Adult iPhone app is available in the iTunes store.

New iPhone will be ready to deliver Adult Content?

This week some controversy aroused about Apple refusing a Nine Inch Nail App update because of the language used. This is not the first time Apple refused Apps because of inappropriate language or content.
Now it looks like the new iPhone OS 3.0 will change that as it features enhanced parental controls. Apple Insider reports that Apple made some comments to declined App submitters that they should try again once iPhone OS 3.0 is out.

Adult Filmmaker Digital Playground releases 100th Blu-ray Title

Forgotten are the times when Joone the founder of Digital Playgrounds said at the AVN 2007 that he has to release his adult HD movies on HD DVD because Sony would not let him release adult movies on Blu-ray. Two years later Digital Playgrounds is already releasing their 100th adult movie on Blu-ray disc.
The 100th Blu-ray title will be released on March 31st and is titled 'Digital Playground's Bad Girls'.
Available on DVD and Blu-ray, the gonzo includes contract stars Stoya, Gabriella Fox, and Shay Jordan. Read more

Adult Films not able to drive 3D Movie Adoption

The Adult Film industry has a track record of being the driver behind lots of technology innovations and adoption of technologies like VHS, DVD, online billing or even most recently Blu-ray. The next big thing in home entertainment is supposed to be able to watch 3D movies at home according to lots of new 3D related product announcements at the CES 2009.
Ali Joone, founder and director at Digital Playground said in an interview with Marketwatch that the experiment with 3D, but are waiting for standards to be finalized. Another reason for the adult film industry not to be spear heading 3D despite the obvious very interesting immersive experience are the high production cost. Yes, even the Adult film industry feels the recession, but also the rising of these free porn sites are a problem for established adult film studios. Read more

Older Adults Adopting Text Messaging

Many view texting as something done by younger adults and teens, but that notion may not be accurate. According to a study commissioned by Sprint, the number of adults texting has risen from two years ago. Sprints study shows that 20% of adults age 55 to 64 send text messages compared to 13% of the same group in 2006.

76% of adults 55 to 64 who text are texting their kids says the study. The study shows that adults under 30 are four times more likely to respond to a text than a voice mail. My wife was going to text her mom this week, I told her not to because I don’t think she could figure out how to text back. Some parents are just more tech savvy than others. Read more

Manhunt 2 Rated Adults Only by ESRB

Manhunt 2 from Take-Two Interactive has been dealt another set back shortly after being banned from sale in the UK. The game ahs received the rating AO (adults only) by the ESRB pretty much ensuring you will only be able to buy it online since stores like Wal-mart and Best buy don’t typically carry AO rated games.

The game was given that rating based not on nudity or sexual content, but rather for what has been called extreme violence. Supposed examples of this extreme violence are being able to castrate enemies with pliers (ouch!), sawing someone’s head in half and killing enemies by bashing their head into an electrical box.
