Alienware Area-51 m15x Gets 45nm Core 2 Extreme
Alienware announced today that its Area-51 m15x is the first 15.4-inch notebook computer equipped with a 45nm Intel Core 2 Extreme Mobile processor. The processor used in the system is the Intel Core 2 Extreme Mobile processor X9000 CPU.
"When we launched the Area-51 m15x in January with the original CPUs and the NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX GPU, we knew we had crammed in more power than anyone had ever seen in this size system," said Bryan de Zayas, Associate Director for Product Marketing at Alienware. "Now, with the addition of an Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000, we've made the world's most powerful 15.4-inch notebook even more powerful." Read more

Alienware Announces Area-51 m15x Notebook
Alienware announced its latest notebook computer today called the Area-51 m15x. The notebook features a 15.4-inch screen and is available with a range of Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme mobile processors.
Graphics on the machine include the new NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX, which provides serious gaming muscle for mobile gamers. The system also utilizes Alienware’s BinaryGFX technology that allows users to switch between integrated graphics and the discrete graphics card. Read more

Alienware Curved Display Details
Alienware made a splash at the CES 2008 showing a curved back projection display for a more immersive game-play.
Hardcore gamers already have two or even three monitors placed on their desks. The Alienware curved display addresses that setup with a single monitor.
I was waiting to see an official press-release about this new monitor from Alienware, but as it looks Alienware is not quite ready with the product yet.

Alienware Adds 320GB Samsung HDD to Options for Notebooks
Alienware has announced that it is the first to market with the new Samsung 320GB hard drives in its computers. You can now opt for up to 640GB of storage in a notebook form factor. The Alienware systems that the new 320GB Samsung notebook drives will be available in are the Area-51 m9750 and the Area-51 m5550.
These are the first gaming notebooks to be available with up to 640GB of storage space and can be set up to operate in RAID 1 or RAID 0 configurations as well. Alienware is also offering a combination of the 320Gb HDD and a 64GB SSD. Read more

Alienware Offers SSD RAID and SSD & HDD Options
I have had the chance to check out some of the fantastic machines from Alienware in the past and they typically use the best hardware available. While they are normally far from inexpensive, the Alienware computers certainly perform well.
Today Alienware announced that they are now offering SSD drives as storage options in their Area-51 m9750, Aurora m9700 and Area-51 m5550 notebooks. Not only can you get a single 32GB SSD if you want, but you can opt for a 32GB SSD RAID setup. Read more

Not too long ago Alienware, best known for some very nice gaming computers, announced their first media center computer called the Hangar18. The rig is designed to be the centerpiece of your home theater.
HD DVR functionality allows you to record your favorite shows and play them back at up to 1080p via HDMI output. You can option the system with up to 2TB of storage space for many hours of stored programs. Alienware is the high-end maker of some fantastic looking and great performing laptops and notebooks as well as one of the most recent acquisitions of Dell. If you have been wondering if the purchase by Dell has diluted the performance gene pool at Alienware, this is the review for you.

Alienware (a Dell company) will bundle the Phantom Lapboard keyboard with their media center PCs.
Looks like the Lapboard is finally the product that Phantom Entertainment formerly Infinium Labs is going to sell for real, after the whole gaming console/network failed.
The Phantom Wireless Lapboard and Phantom Wireless Laser Mouse are designed to enables users to work or play games from a couch, easy chair or any comfortable setting in the home or workplace.
