New Black Friday iPhone App Is A Must Have
The number of advertised deals on Black Friday is overwhelming. There is no easy way to compare deals for a specific product across stores. The Black Friday Sites do a good job of categorizing and analyzing the Black Friday circulars. One of these sites called TGI Black Friday has now gone a step further and released a surprisingly useful Black Friday App for the iPhone.
For instance if you want to find out which Wii Bundles will be offered on Black Friday. You just search for "Wii Bundle" on this iPhone App and you see at a glance all Wii Bundle offers with prices available in the different stores.
When you search for iPod touch you can easily see that Walmart has the best deal with $195 and a free $50 iTunes card.
TGI Black Friday announced the free Black Friday iPhone app today and I just downloaded it from iTunes.

Livescribe Launches Pulse Smartpen App Store
It hasn't been very long and now a gadget without an App store is inconceivable. Livescribe just announced the beta launch of its online Application Store, providing consumers with the ability to download more than 30 paid and free applications, which extend the functionality of the Pulse smartpen beyond its core feature of recording and linking audio to handwriting.
What would a Smartpen App do? Can it fart in 100 variations or blow out candles like iPhone apps can do?
There are actually already quite useful Pulse apps. For example, consumers can now read and hear a translated phrase in Spanish, French, German, Japanese or even Korean, access fun facts on a variety of topics from past World Series winners to U.S. Presidents; get help studying geometry, organic chemistry, or Hebrew chanting; play more than a dozen games like Blackjack, Video Poker or Hangman; listen to classical music pieces or even play a guitar – right from the 'pentip' of their Pulse smartpen.

Apple Mac OS X 10.7 In The Works?
Apple released Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard a couple of months ago. Now the first rumors are appearing about the next OS X release. OS X 10.7, if this will be its version number, has no big cat name yet, but a suspicious version number appeared in an open source development database according to MacRumors.
Of course it is way too early to speculate what OS X 10.7 will be bringing to your Mac. The Snow Leopard release was mostly about stability and security. This of course could mean that OS X 10.7 will push the envelope on the user interface.

Apple Hiring AAA Game Designer
Since the launch of the App Store, Apple itself has released just four applications. Considering how very many different developers are busy creating new apps on a regular basis, Apple hasn't really had to do anything. Gaming has proved to be an especially lucrative realm of the App Store, even going so far as to threaten Nintendo's hold on the handheld gaming market.

Schools Won't Use The Kindle Until It's Handicapped Accessible
Two major universities, Syracuse and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, have decided not to use the Kindle DX as a way of distributing textbooks to their students. This is a big blow to Amazon's hopes for their reader, and one that's been applauded by the National Federation of the Blind. They dislike the Kindle because it cannot be used by blind students. As long as that is the case, they say, universities should not adopt the device for widespread use.
The National Federation was careful to mention that they see a lot of promise in E-Reader technology for blind students. Text-to-speech functionality could easily create a reader that is useable by those with disabilities, but the Kindle DX was not manufactured in this way. While universities are still free to approve of the Kindle as one way to distribute books to students, the Americans With Disabilities Act makes it impossible for it to be the sole method.

Apple Tops Handset Profits, Samsung & Nokia Struggle To Keep Up
Despite being in the smartphone business for just two years, Apple is already kicking the pants off of their biggest rivals. Reuters reports today that Apple is now officially the top profit generator in the entire mobile device industry. Analysts estimate Apple's total operating profit at around $1.6 billion in the third quarter. Nokia, the second place manufacturer, only made $1.1 billion over the same period.
It's not hard to see why. The iPhone sells in high volume, has a very solid profit margin for Apple, and generates extremely high loyalty among customers. People who buy an iPhone tend to replace it with another iPhone. There are comparatively few cases of iPhone users dropping their smartphone for another manufacturer's gadget. It does happen, but users of other platforms jumping ship to go Apple is much more common.
