2-D Barcode Application Now Available for Apple iPhone
I don't think anyone will deny that Apple has a runaway hit on its hands with the App Store. With over 60 million applications downloaded in the first month of the service, the App Store could prove to be as popular as Apple's music store in the future. A company called Scanbuy has launched an application for the iPhone called ScanLife that allows the iPhone to read 2-D barcodes.
The application installs directly to the iPhone, uses the iPhone camera to take pictures of 2-D barcodes, and provides users with an instant connection to information about the product associated with the barcode. The service allows consumers to search for product information without having to type in a URL or keyword. The service also allows individuals to create personal EZcodes linking to blogs or networking sites by registering an account. Read more

Apple has surpassed Google in market capitalization as of yesterday. Google stands at $157.23B and Apple at $158.84B. The news made its round quickly through the Apple focused blogs.
To compare Apple with Google is in my mind not really making sense. I rather see Apple competing with Microsoft. Microsoft stands currently at a market capitalization of $254.83B.

Apple can remotely kill iPhone App
Jonathan Zdziarski author of the book iPhone Forensics found out that Apple has apparently a method to remotely deactivate iPhone Apps on your iPhone.
Apple is apparently keeping a live blacklist of bad iPhone Apps. The list is empty right now.
On the one hand this feature is pretty cool and allows Apple to have a lot of control over iPhone applications. So in case someone sneaks an iPhone App with a Trojan horse inside onto the iTunes App store, Apple still has the ability to kill the app, even if you installed it already.
