6 New Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV including LC-52GX1W

Sharp introduces six new Aquos LCD panel HDTVs in Japan.

The new LCD based flat screen high definition television sets feature improved performance with 2000:1 contrast ratio, 4ms response time and 176 degree viewing angle. Of course the new Sharp HDTVs feature full HD resolution (1920x1080px).

The largest model is the 52 inch LC-52GX1W (or LC-52GX2W side speakers).

Vodafone, soon to be called Softbank Mobile Corp., announces in Japan the Sharp AQUOS 905SH digital terrestrial TV mobile phone.

The Sharp AQUOS 905SH features a Mobile ASV LCD screen based on Sharp's AQUOS LCD TV line.

With 4 hours of continuous viewing time, the 905SH is setting a new record. The TV phone is capable of receiving 'One Seg' terrestrial digital and analog TV broadcasts.
Also industry first's are the recording to memory card feature and the ability to actually make calls while watching TV. Read more

Sharp Aquos PC LCD TV Systems

Sharp introduces a new line of LCD TVs with Windows PCs.

The top model is a Sharp 37" LCD monitor (LD-37SP1) combined with the Sharp PC-AX100M Intel Core Duo Windows XP PC. Other features of the PC-AX100M include a 500GB HDD, DVD Writer, HD-Tuner, PVR functionality and SD-Card slot. The cheaper PC-AX50M runs on a Celeron CPU and only has a 250GB hard-drive.
The Sharp PC-AX100M and the cheaper PC-AX50M run Windows XP Home Edition SP2. Read more

Sharp announces the LC-20AX6 20" LCD HDTV in Japan.

The Sharp Aquos LC-20AX6 features a 1,366x768 pixel resolution, 1,200:1 contrast ratio and 500cd/m2 brightness.

New Sharp Aquos 65 inch LCD HDTV LC-65GE1

Sharp announces in Japan their new huge 65 inch LCD TV supporting hi-vision - LC-65GE1.

The Sharp Aquos LC-65GE1 supports the HDTV resolution 1,920×1,080 pixels. Power consumption for this LCD monster is low with 619W. The new Sharp is supposed to be faster and also feature a 4 wave length back light to improve on the color display quality. The LC-65GE1 features also built-in speakers and a 1-bit digital amplifier.
The Sharp Aquos LC-65GE1 goes on sale in Japan on August 1st for 1,600,000 Yen (~$14,800). Only 300 will be made. Yes this is the high-end in LCD HDTVs.

Sharp introduces a new line of LCD TVs with high brightness (500cd/m2).

The new Aquos LCD TVs include the LC-13C7 (13 inch), LC-17C7 (17 inch) and the LC-20CS (20 inch). All three Sharp TV models feature a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels.
Besides the high brightness the new Aquos TVs feature high quality stereo speakers. The new LCD TVs will go on sale January 22nd 2005. No pricing set yet.

6 New Sharp Aquos LCD TVs Announced

Sharp announces (translation) six new models of their successful Aquos TV line.

The new Sharp Aquos LCD TVs range from 37" to 26" size. The new models are LC-37GD1, LC-37GD2, LC-32GD1 LC-32GD2, LC-26GD1 and LC-26GD2. The prices starts at 420,000yen (~$4,000).

The high-definition LCD TVs feature a resolution of 1,366x768 pixels (13,150,000 dots). The new series also features interfaces like a PC-Card slot and DVI-I input.
The new Aquos are manufactured in Sharp's new plant and Sharp plans to sell about 3 Mio. LCD TVs in a 12 month period starting April.

Sharp AQUOS B3 LCD TV with Built-in SD-Card Slot

Sharp releases new Aquos LCD TV with SD Memory Card Slot to record live TV programming.

The new Sharp Aquos B3 series features a SD Memory Card slot on the side of the LCD TV. On a 256MB SD Card 1 hour of TV programming can be stored. the SD Card can then be used for instance in portable Video Players or PDAs to watch the video.
The Memory Cards are actually inserted in a PC card (PCMCIA TYPE II) that is supported by the TV. The TV also can display photos stored on the Memory card via a slide-show feature.
The Sharp Aquos B3 comes in 20" (220,000yen), 15" (150,000yen) and 13" (103,000yen) Screen Size.

New Sharp AQUOS Cordless LCD TVs

Sharp introduces AQUOS a new line of cordless LCD TV Sets.

Beginning of April I4U reported about the cordless Sony Vega TV series.
Now Sharp introduces their line of cordless TV Sets.

The Sharp AQUOS LC-15L1 is a 15" LCD TV set that has no wires. The Display is powered by a built-in Lithium battery. The AV signal is transmitted wirelessly from the base station that contains the tuner.
The AV signal is transmitted over 2.4Ghz frequence. The cordless Sony Vega TV seriesuse 5GHz to avoid interference, so Sharp is a bit behind here.
The AQUOS LC-15L1 will retail for about 175,000yen starting May 1st in Japan.
