ASUS R710 GPS with HUD announced
Asus officially announced today the Asus R710 portable GPS device with heads up display feature.
The R710 features a 5 inch touch-screen and a rather elegant user interface. The killer feature though is the PathFinder HUD. HUD displays are usually rather expensive options in premium cars. Last year GlobalTop introduced a low cost GPS HUD, but it wasn't really convincing.
It is hard to say at this point if the Asus R710 HUD will work better.

Intel X48 Motherboard Round-up: ASUS, ECS, Intel
Hothardware published a round-up of Intel X48 based motherboards.
Quote: "The first motherboard comes from ASUS, and is a member of the gamer-oriented Republic of Gamers series, which we have taken a few looks at in the past. We've been mostly impressed by what they've offered in this series, and expect no less with the Rampage Formula. Next up is the X48T-A from ECS. We can honestly say that we haven't seen much from ECS in the past couple of years in the enthusiast segment, so we aren't exactly sure what to expect, but if early impressions mean anything, this "Black Series" board means business. Finally, following on the heels of their popular Bonetrail X38 board, Intel has sent along the DX48BT2, which, like the X48 chipset itself is more or less an update of the original.

Asus F6 scented Notebooks unveiled
Asus unveiled a new set of Asus F6 notebooks that come in different styles with different fragrances. Why a notebook should have a smell is not really clear to me, but maybe you like it.
The lifespan of the fragrance applied to the Asus F6 depends on actual usage of the notebook. This means you should not lick it.
The available styles and fragrances sound like Axe deodorant names: Floral Blossom, Musky Black (photo), Morning Dew and Aqua Ocean.

ASUS Republic Of Gamers Maximus Formula II Review
Asus announced the Asus ROG Maximus II Formula Motherboard in June. Motherboards just published a review of the ASUS Republic Of Gamers Maximus Formula II motherboard.
Quote from the review: "From a performance point of view, the ASUS Maximus II Formula is simply head and shoulders above the other P45 motherboards I've tested in the important categories of Sysmark (overall system score) and 3DMark (Graphics scores). From a Features point of view, the 8 SATA ports, CrossfireX compatibility and the ability to overclock the CPU to a higher clock speed automatically (CPU LevelUp) are features that a gamer will use. The inclusion of a full version of Kapersky Antivirus and 3DMark06 are added bonuses that make this motherboard worthy of a ROG sticker and my recommendation. P45 chipsets have hit the market in full force with ICH10R and a slew of improvements due to the smaller process scale of 65nm.

Asus S101 not an Eee PC and actually targets MacBook Air
A week ago an Asus Eee Roadmap was leaked that showed a new S101 and S91 netbook in the Ultimate segment. At an event in Taiwan Asus' CEO showed off productions samples of the Asus S101 and revealed that Asus will go to market with the Asus S101 without the Eee PC moniker.
They rather target the premium lightweight notebook sector with the S101. The Asus S101 is 16-21mm thin and Asus actually set its eyes on competing with Apple's Macbook Air.
